How long does parsix keep its repositories?

Postby AmiNimA » Tue Sep 04, 2012 7:33 pm

That's the question.
How long can we update our parsix installation? 6 month? 1 year?

and if we don't want to upgrade the version for example from 3.7 to 4, is it possible to have an alive parsix?! I mean if i want to install new packages, how can I do it? I don't want to touch my gnome 2 at all.

Normally old stable repos would vanish when development of a new testing version starts. So you have few months after release of the last revision of the stable release. It doesn't have exact time table AFAIK but Alan warns this kind of changes via mailing list posts.
Parsix continent repo does sync with Debian testing repo in certain times. So if you follow Debian developmnet cycles you might be able to install packages using Debian repos (Testing, Stable or even Old Stable). Be careful about packages in official repo of Parsix which are packages with Parsix tag, if you update them via Debian repos they will replace with Debian Packages.
Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.
