parsix GNU/Linux 5.0 Test 1

Postby misaine » Wed May 29, 2013 10:57 pm

hello,

I currently testing this new version.

The LiveDVD works well in French but not installation.
in English there is no problem. and then I can set up the French language.

one question: the final release will be based on wheezy (stable) or the testing branch?

thanks

You might need to re-burn the ISO.

Alan re downloaded its now installed and running really well after a few teething problems.
It would not boot with other OSes so I had to change to UUID to fix, should be default?
Also I was getting double entries for other OS in grub I altered the boot grub file dirty but ok till you fix it.
I kept getting freezes and having to power off with start button that went when I installed nvidia driver,
I had to apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade, as the updater program does not update, I prefer the terminal but lots don't.
The software program forget to download packages,
Synaptic only starts from the terminal as root. not from menu
Can you include Skype in the repositories as a newbie could never work out how to install on a 64bt install
Well apart from those niggles a very good test1
very fast boot
Under 350 mb ram for 64bt Gnome 3 is impressive.
Its very fast and now seems very stable
