Icons and files on the desktop

Postby HansD » Fri Nov 14, 2014 6:20 am

May be this is a very simple question.

At the desktop of the Parsix Live-CD I see the installer file "parsix-installer.desktop", but there are also icons, which link to Dolphin loading special directories and there are icons for /home and the "Computer".

But if I go to the CLI I got this:

Code: Select all
root@1[Desktop]# ls -la
insgesamt 4
drwxr-xr-x  2 parsix parsix  60 Nov 14 00:26 .
drwxr-xr-x 18 parsix parsix 580 Nov 14 05:34 ..
-rwxr-xr-x  1 parsix parsix 258 Nov 14 00:26 parsix-installer.desktop

Now my question: Why do I not see some symbolic links, where are the icons?

Hello, those extra ones are usially generated by the file manager itself on the fly.
