No mouse/keyboard on latest parsix version 3.5 test 1

Postby daveo » Sat Mar 20, 2010 8:02 pm

When I boot up with the latest version 3.5 test 1 live CD, I don't have any mouse or keyboard. The optical mouse light is on, but the cursor won't move at all. No lights on the keyboard.

I have tried plugging in a keyboard/mouse directly to usb ports on back of computer instead of my 2 port KVM switch, but still nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas?

My set up is as follows:
intel i7 920 cpu
Nvidia GeForce 250 GTS
Gigabyte Ex58-UD3R motherboard (bios ver FE)
6 gigs DDR3 OCZ ram
1 400gig Seagate Barracuda mounted a /
1 500gig Seagate Barracuda mounted as /home
Parsix 3.0r2

Thanks,
Dave

Can you please post in the Frankie test 1 section as it is easier to follow any problems if they are in the correct section
Thank you

Can you boot into Text mode and from there run parsix-installer? This is a weird issue and we are still investigating its causes!

well, I boot into text mode but can't figure out how to start up the text mode install routine. It boots up ok and I do have keyboard control, but don't know how to start up the text mode install.

I did try booting up on another computer I have [amd 4200+ 64bit cpu with 2 gigs of ram; don't know what the video card is; same hard drives]
and the keyboard and mouse work fine on it.

Thanks for all the help. Of all the distros I have tried over the past year, parsix is the one I keep coming back to.

Ok that did the trick; text-mode installed successfully and I have both kb and mouse. Awesome.

Thanks so much.
