...error inserting fan, processor, thermal...

Postby masssimino » Thu May 07, 2009 8:58 pm

Every time on boot I see the following messages:
Code: Select all
FATAL: Error inserting fan (/lib/modules/2.6.26-parsix64-17/kernel/drivers/acpi/fan.ko): No such device
WARNING: Error inserting processor (/lib/modules/2.6.26-parsix64-17/kernel/drivers/acpi/processor.ko): No such device
FATAL: Error inserting thermal (/lib/modules/2.6.26-parsix64-17/kernel/drivers/acpi/thermal.ko): No such device

It has been appearing on both my PC's AthlonX2-4200+ and AthlonX2-6000+ with all Parsix2.0 kernels from the beginning up to '17'.

And I get the following message both on my home 64-bit installations (extended partition) and on my PC at work (32-bit installation on Pentium4, primary partition):
Code: Select all
can't set parameters of /dev/sda

But actually, I'd like to add that all of my installations of Parsix2.0 work perfectly with any hardware I've tried. And I only want to ask what this messages means? And how can I get rid of it?

Thank you in advance.

I think every body gets the same error message I've had it for 12 months
I believe its a phantom error as I used to get a similar message with Sidux about parameters.
