Parsix boot

Postby Donato » Fri Aug 16, 2013 9:37 am

Hello. I'm trying to run Parsix, but it doesn't work. I've burnt the iso image of both stable and unstable, i386 and X64, both on usb stick and on Dvd, but at startup nothing happens. Laptop simply ignores the media, even if I force boot priority.
I've alsto tried with parsix-iso2usb, but it replies that there is no GRUB2 installation found. I cannot find any documentation in the web. Please help me, I'd like to try this distro.
Regards.

Hello! How do you burn the ISO image? It has to be burnt as an image to be boot-able.

Ok, I'm trying with several distro's and the risult is the same: on my main laptop (ASUS S56C) the usb media is ignored at boot, while it works with others laptops. Could it be caused by any hw conflict?

Maybe I've solved: I think that's because of UEFI. Maybe Parsix is not updated to that system?

You need to go to your bios and disable UEFI then it will boot OK.
Parsix running AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor, Gigabyte mother board 8gb ram, Nvidia graphic card 1gb unboard ram, Plextor PX760, EPSON R300, 2x 500gb hds, sata+3x 500gb, 1x2tb Hardrives, 23" AOC monitor 1980X1080 Resolution

Yes, we do not support UEFI boot yet. Make sure "legacy boot" is enabled in your BIOS setup.
