If you need to run Parsix from a USB stick, try using the included utility called parsix-iso2usb. You can even run it from the live media pointing to a location of the ISO file.

See

Code: Select all
man parsix-iso2usb

For details.

Unebooting is no good for writing parsix to USB. if you are using a Linux based distro you can DD it or use something like image writer in windows, Or suse imagewriter its available for most distros or iso2usb again in most repositories.
Parsix running AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor, Gigabyte mother board 8gb ram, Nvidia graphic card 1gb unboard ram, Plextor PX760, EPSON R300, 2x 500gb hds, sata+3x 500gb, 1x2tb Hardrives, 23" AOC monitor 1980X1080 Resolution

Hello,
Thanks for reply
I'm using Ubuntu last version.
So I tried with dd. Everything seems to be right, but when I boot on the USB stick, It said to me Please insert a média with bootable OS.

Then, I found this :
http://www.turnkeylinux.org/blog/iso2usb
they explained you have to isohybrid path/to/image.iso but I had
isohybrid: Téléchargements/parsix_7.0-TEST-1-i386.iso: boot loader does not have an isolinux.bin hybrid signature. Note that isolinux-debug.bin does not support hybrid booting

Thanks for ideas

Guys, use this:

http://www.parsix.org/browser/pkg/offic ... ix-iso2usb

Example usage:
Code: Select all
./parsix-iso2usb -d -D /dev/sdb  --iso /media/sda2/Parsix-Project/parsix.iso

Format your USB key in vfat, ext2/3/4.

This script should work from any distro.

How do I save this script? I do not see an .sh I can download. I am trying to create a bootable Parsix usb from inside of an Ubuntu based distro. It has been a real pain attempting to make this happen!

Save it using:
Code: Select all
http://www.parsix.org/export/10282/pkg/official/nestor/main/parsix-installer/trunk/parsix-iso2usb

make it executable and run it.
