I've used the parsix because it is as stability and powerful as debian, but it is a userfriendly nice live cd is too.
It wasn't as idiote as ubuntu who change the debian config files...

The Parsix 3 uses the NetWorkManager (an idiote programme) which use an other config files and it dont work good.

I use the old config (apt-get remove Network-manager).

Please the parsix don't be ubuntu.

Me too. NetworkManager detect 3G modem & mobile phone but fail to connect.
I use our good old friends wvdial.
NetworkManager in opensuse/fedora is very good. Autodetect mobile broadband setting and have signal strengh.

Thanks parsix 3 still have wvdial. Mandriva 2010.0 dont come with wvdial, no NetworkManager Applet and mandriva own network manager not work. That why i come to parsix.

I'm just on dialup service,...and didn't have any problems getting on the internet with Parsix. Wvdial with Gnome-ppp work great (and Parsix is a really nice and solid Debian-testing-based distro. I'm a little crazy, though,...and I like to use the Kppp dialer (from the KDE desktop). I added that from my Debian DVDs,...then use the command "gksu /usr/bin/kppp" to use the dialer. It actually works without a hitch,...and I'm using it right now to post. :D

Have you filed a bug report on this.
I read your link and to be quite fair to the devs reporting problems on another forum is not the way to go,
If these people had used this forum and reported bugs here then network-manager would of been fixed.
Please use the report bugs button if something fails.
I personally don't use a laptop and never have a problem.

Nothing wrong with Ubuntu . . . but, it's just not Debian.

While Ubuntu is based on Debian (unstable) . . . it is NOT compatible with Debian.

Never had any issues with Network-Manager at all. Ever. It works great, like it's supposed to.
